Welcome to Music Keys Rule!
This interactive teaching tool has been developed by Elizabeth Maloney who has over
40 years teaching experience.
Elizabeth's background includes music and business, holding a Bachelor of Music degree (Honours in Music Education) from Western University; an Associate of Music diploma (Teachers) and an Associate of Music diploma (Performance) from the Western Conservatory of Music; a Bachelor of Commerce degree (University of Windsor); and a CPA (Certified Public Accountant (CMA) designation.
Elizabeth is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association and has held several executive positions in the local branch. The insights from working with the many students over the years led Mrs. Maloney to develop a self study course to help students better understand major scales and key signatures. Technology has created a wonderful opportunity to make YouTube videos and provide the supporting teaching tools available in this website. The goal of these videos and website is to simplify and achieve a better understanding of rudiments thus making the entire music experience from sight reading to notation more enjoyable.
